Conclude

During a presentation, jittery clients are shooter by the relaxed confidence of a designer, art director or account executive who appears to have every aspect of the job under control.

Therefore CONCLUDE the creative stage of a project by making sure that everything you will be presenting meets and exceeds the parameters and expectations that were present, try to evaluate all material through their eyes: better to identify and correct weaknesses before a presentation than to try explaining and defending them in the conference room.

Within reason, SECOND-GUESS every aspect of your design–concept, layout, execution, style, colors, typography. If you don’t have the mental agility of a defense lawyer, establish a rationale for decisions that may be questioned before the meeting so tahr you can react with ease when the grilling begins.

Make sure that corporate guidelines and productions specs have been followed.

PROOFREAD! if time allows, let the layout rest for a day or two before you evaluate your work– it’s amazing what a fresh pair of eyes will tell you about your own work.
